Environment

NEF's Climate Education initiative is a pioneering project fostering environmental awareness and action among the youth in Delhi's government schools. In collaboration with the Government of NCT of Delhi, this flagship project focuses on creating a generation of environmentally conscious leaders. The program's core components include creating and strengthening eco-clubs, integrating climate education into curriculum activities, engaging students in community-based initiatives, and identifying and supporting youth environmental champions. The intervention comprises knowledge-building sessions, experiential group activities, live workshops, field visits, action projects, and training sessions on leadership and effective communication.

Overall Impact: 150 government school students, primarily girls, were trained, experiencing remarkable increases in climate awareness, motivation to act, willingness to lead projects, and improved communication skills. Live action projects, including making and distributing 100+ paper bags and implementing circular economy models like composting pits, showcased tangible environmental impact. Creative advocacy efforts reached 300+ students, fostering community engagement.

The post-intervention survey highlighted significant positive shifts, with a 62% increase in climate awareness and a 56% improvement in willingness to lead projects. NEF's strategic collaborations with 20+ stakeholders further amplify the project's impact, emphasizing our holistic approach to climate education, action, and leadership among school students.

As we extend this impactful project to various other initiatives like solid waste management, NEF remains dedicated to cultivating a generation committed to nurturing a socially responsible and environmentally conscious generation.
