Covid-19 Response
During the COVID-19 pandemic, NEF undertook impactful initiatives to address critical needs in marginalized communities. Firstly, the "Swachh Sankalp" campaign focused on disseminating COVID-19 information, busting myths, and promoting cleanliness and safety in Jhuggi Jhopri clusters. Through hygiene kit distribution, community champion empowerment, door-to-door sessions, and localised digital awareness via WhatsApp, NEF actively engaged in practical, ground-level efforts to combat the pandemic's challenges.
In collaboration with the Delhi government, NEF implemented "Dilli Hunger Shield," delivering essential resources to vulnerable communities during the lockdown. This initiative included cooked meals and dry ration kits for families excluded from government support systems. NEF's COVID-19 response team streamlined processes, ensuring efficient ration donations and deliveries across Delhi.
Moreover, during the emergence of the Omicron variant, NEF's "COVID Relief Network" efficiently managed relief efforts through a demand management system, coordination teams, and resource management initiatives. This included resolving urgent demands for oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, and ICU/ventilators, directly impacting the lives of hundreds in need.
